AHS Mock Trial Teams place 1st and 2nd
Asheboro High School’s Blue team and White team participated in the regional competition of the Wade Edwards Mock Trial Competition on February 9th in Winston-Salem. The championship round had the AHS Blue team competing against the AHS White team, with the Blue team coming out on top.
“The students worked extremely hard to prepare for this competition,” said faculty advisor Kim Aldrich. “Their presentations were very impressive.”
Blue team members are: Justin Hutton, Samantha Lovin, Elizabeth Lail, Leanne Caudill, Lauren Karaman, Mitchell Lancaster and Cynthia Redding. Members of the White team are: Whitney Purvis, Morgan Tedder, Jake Grey, Caleb Cockman, Nathan Roberts, Taylor Overman, and John Villa. Attorney coaches for the teams are Steve Schmidley, Brooke Schmidley, and Darren Allen.

The AHS Blue team will advance to the state competition to be held in Charlotte on March 8th and 9th.
