AHS students earn All-State Chorus honors

Five AHS Chorus students participated in the NC High School All-State Choral Festival at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and War Memorial Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, January 28 -29.  Participants included the following students from the Park Street Ensemble: Jonathan Olivares, selected to sing in the 11th/12th Grade Choir sponsored by the North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA), and Megan Jarrell and Payton Burnette, selected to sing in the SSA Choir sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).  Carly Hutton and Mari Sweeney, members of the AHS Concert Chorus, were selected to participate in the 9th/10th Grade Choir sponsored by NCMEA.  All choirs presented a concert in the War Memorial Auditorium on January 29.
