Elementary Choral Festival

Thursday, April 17 will mark the second elementary choral festival held in Asheboro City Schools.  The elementary choral festival, a vision of the elementary music teachers, Sally Barnes, Susan Jarrett, and Cindy Watson, provides an opportunity for vocally talented students to be exposed to a guest clinician.

Students from all five elementary schools were chosen by their music teacher to participate.  Students and parents signed letters of commitment for rehearsal attendance, behavior and high academic achievement.  Following the selection process, six weeks of after school rehearsals began.

Students will attend an all-day rehearsal on April 17 at Teachey Elementary School with clinician Bethany Jennings, choral director at Randleman Middle School, and Sally Barnes, accompanist.  At the conclusion of the festival, a free concert will be held that night at 7 p.m. at Teachey Elementary School.  The Randleman Middle School Chorus will also perform during the festival.
