Asheboro City Schools realizes that part of 21st century learning is adapting to the changing methods of communication. The importance of engaging, collaborating, learning and sharing in digital environments is part of our 21st century world. To this aim Asheboro City Schools has established Facebook and Twitter accounts to expand our communication reach.
“We will continue to communicate with parents on our traditional formats, such as: district and school newsletters, website, press releases, AlertNow phone messages, parent nights and face-to-face meetings,” said Carla Freemyer, Public Information Officer.
The goal is to post information two or three times a week and more frequently as needed. The types of communication we plan to include are: special announcements, upcoming school and/or district events, recognitions or awards and honors, emergency information as needed, etc.
“We believe this is a great opportunity to reach parents that may not connect with the school system in traditional ways...expanding the options for parents and our community to keep up with the many exciting initiatives going on in our schools.”
