May 5th Benefit to be held at Balfour
The community is invited to attend “Joining Hearts for Japan,” a benefit concert being held at Balfour Elementary School on May 5th from 6:00-7:30pm in the multi-purpose room. The purpose of the concert is to raise funds to send to the victims of the recent natural disaster in Japan. All proceeds will go to The Salvation Army in Tokyo, Japan.
The evening of the benefit, there will be booths set up around the multi-purpose room featuring different activities and opportunities for donations that include Japanese games, Japanese crane making, Japanese food, and more! Students at Balfour have already started to raise money by donating a quarter in exchange for a decorated heart on display in the school hallway.
The concert will feature Earth Spirit Taiko from Randolph Community College, Balfour Taiko Bulldogs (a student drumming club), and the Asheboro City Schools Elementary Honor Chorus will be singing a Japanese piece, Shojojee.
Please join the Balfour school community on the evening of May 5th and help raise support for the people of Japan.
