School Spelling Bee winners announced

School level Spelling Bees have been held across the Asheboro City Schools district over the past several weeks. Each of the school level winners will compete in Asheboro City Schools Spelling Bee sponsored by The Courier-Tribune on Tuesday, February 16, at 7:00pm in the Professional Development Center.
 
The Balfour Elementary School winner is 4th grader Juan Gonzalez-Juarez. He is the son of Juan Gonzalez and Patricia Juarez. Mosses Mendoza, a 4th grader is runner up. He is the son of Roberto Mendoza and Rafaela Gutierrez.
 
The winner from Charles W. McCrary Elementary School is 4th grader Lauren Brooks. She is the daughter of Cleo and Kim Brooks. Caitlin Lamb, 5th grade, is runner up. She is the daughter of James and Suklee Lamb.
 
The Donna Lee Loflin Elementary School winner is 5th grader Dylan Allen. He is the son of Robin Allen. Runner up is Moses Speight, 5th grade, the son of Moses and Eyvonne Speight.
 
Guy B. Teachey Elementary School winner is 5th grader Matthew Swaney. He is the son of Dwayne and Iris Swaney. Runner up is 5th grader Brooke Norris, daughter of Larry and Suzanne Norris.
 
The Lindley Park Elementary School winner is 5th grader Emmanuelle Garcia. He is the son of Edgar Ramirez and Thelma Garcia. Runner up is Domonic Clement, 4th grade. He is the son of Kevin and Currie Clement.
 
The North Asheboro Middle School winner is 7th grader Michael Barillas. He is the son of Karol Barillas. 8th grader Jasmine Trogdon is the runner-up. She is the daughter of Quinton Trogdon.
 
The South Asheboro Middle School winner is 6th grader Connor Criscoe. He is the son of Ray Criscoe and Leslie Yow. Zoe Greeley, a 6th grader, is runner-up. She is the daughter of Tim and Amy Greeley.
