Students attended 2011 Middle Level Conference
Six students and an advisor from Asheboro High School attended the 2011 North Carolina Association of Student Councils Middle Level Workshop in Reidsville on September 24-25.
This annual event allows young leaders in the middle grades and in the first year of high school to find out more about the state association, to meet students from other schools, and to learn about school activities that can be taken back and used in home councils.
The freshmen student delegates were: Manuel Badillo, Emily Bullins, Taylor Maness, Heather Malin, Lucas McLeod, Morgan Trotter.
This year’s North Carolina Association of Student Councils’ theme is “Exploring the Nature of Leadership.” AHS Senior Alex Darden served as a Junior Counselor at the Workshop where he led a resource area on leadership games.
Asheboro High School serves as the chair of the NCASC Central District. Student Council President Cameron Kania represents AHS in this role. AHS will host the Central District Student Council Conference on October 22nd. Middle and high school students interested in attending may register through their school’s student council or they may register independently.
Check out the Asheboro High School Student Council Facebook page for more upcoming events or e-mail advisor Kim Lemons at klemons@asheboro.k12.nc.us for specific details. Registration details are also on the state association website, www.ncasc.us and click on District Fall Conferences.
