Extended Content Standards

Functional Skills – Certain EC students with significant cognitive disabilities access services within the functional skills program. Students with significant cognitive disabilities participate in the Extended Content Standard Course of Study. These standards teach the essential elements of the traditional course of study while emphasizing the acquisition of functional skills.

North Carolina Standard Course of Study

North Carolina Special Education Reference- This is a research tool provided to exceptional children program directors, school administrators, teachers and other service providers, parents, and parent support groups who need information regarding special education quickly and in a searchable format.
