Instructional Technology
Asheboro City Schools will use existing and emerging technologies in an effective and ethical way to enhance teaching, learning, collaboration, and meaningful participation in our global society. Instructional technology implementation will focus on facilitating meaningful learning, in which students are actively involved in the learning process. The thoughtful and effective application of educational technology by teachers, administrators and staff improves productivity and enhances teaching and learning. Studies show that technology makes instruction more student-centered, encourages cooperative learning, and stimulates increased teacher/student interaction. As Asheboro City Schools embarks on a new strategic plan, one of the major priorities is to transform all of our classrooms into interactive classrooms outfitted with interactive whiteboards and projectors to create a dynamic classroom environment that fosters collaboration, problem solving, and access to the vast multimedia resources available via the Internet.
Each school has a technology facilitator to provide direct instruction, model lessons, and provide on-site professional development.
